Virginia Army Guard Soldiers Ordered to Active Duty

BLACKSTONE, VA
- Major General Robert B. Newman, Jr., the Adjutant General of Virginia, announced that 177 Soldiers of the Virginia Army National Guard will enter active federal service at their home armories on January 4, 2007. The Guardsmen are currently scheduled to travel to their mobilization station, Ft. Dix, N. J. after a short period of duty at their home armories. Units affected by this mobilization are:

These Virginia Army National Guard Soldiers are being ordered to active federal service for 18 months beginning January 4, 2007 in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. The Secretary of the Army may extend this period up to a total of 24 months based on operational needs or other requirements of the service.
